OF&D Joggers take on the Great North Run

18 OF&D branded runners ran the iconic Great North Run half marathon on Sunday 7 September. Although we are known primarily for our bike rides we have branched out to add a running element to our fundraising efforts.

It is notoriously difficult to get a running place through the Great North Run ballot, with over 200,000 people apply for only around 60,000 places but Only Fools and Donkeys was successfully allocated a small number of charity places with additional runners receiving general ballot entries and offering to raise funds for OF&D.

‘We had the most fabulous day.  The atmosphere was really special and loads of people were cheering us on and shouting out our names as we were so easy to spot with our fabulous bright pink shirts!  A big thank you to Two Degrees North who designed them for us’ said Donna Allan, who organised the group of Joggers.

‘I’m so proud of every one of our 18 runners who all finished in great times. Some of them hadn’t run a half marathon before so they were really spoilt with the atmosphere and the support we received around the route.  We will be applying for charity places again for next year’s run and hope this will become an annual fundraising event for OF&D.’
