Mule Aquitaine
MULE AQUITAINE
11-19 June 2021
Mule Aquitaine will be our fourth jaunt through France following Mule Bretagne (2014), Mule Normandie (2016) and 2018’s Mule Loire.
Mule Loire raised an incredible £43,000 to bring the total raised by the three rides to over £160,000, all of which has remained on the Island to support local charities working with children, adults and young people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities. For more details about the projects and charities we have been able to support with the funds raised please click here.
THE CHALLENGE
A year on from when we should have been going – thwarted by a coronavirus pandemic – 2021 will see 55 riders supported by 10 crew wending our way through the Aquitaine region of France for six days of cycling starting in Niort and travelling through La Rochelle, Angouleme and Perigueux before finishing in Bordeaux.
Our tried and tested formula of offering different options regarding distance and speed is still working so we will be offering three route options each day: 55/60 miles, 80/85 miles and 100 miles for the mad, sorry keen….
The Riders
A huge thank you to all our riders for their support and signing up for the ride; we amazingly filled our 55 rider spaces in less than a month. 44 riders came on last year's ride through the Loire, a few are coming back having missed a ride and there are 16 stalwarts who will have done all four rides. We must be doing something right!
You couldn't find a more brilliant bunch of people so please sponsor them!
The Crew
Bit of musical chairs with the crew for this trip as we've lost a couple of the team to two wheels and one rider has realised four wheels is a much better option... Really couldn't do it without this fabulous team!
